Not only is Erdem about to celebrate its 20th anniversary since the launch of its first womenswear collection, but it has just presented its debut handbag collection with The Bloom bag. Being a very special moment for the renowned British fashion house known for its romantic, narrative-driven designs and dedication to craftsmanship and quality, this launch opens a new chapter for the brand materialised through this bag that features a striking flower-bud handle, handcrafted in hammered brass with a light gold finish.
Inspired by the sculptural and organic shape of flowers, the intrinsic form of its handle is created using lost wax casting, a technique more traditionally used in the creation of fine jewellery. The body of The Bloom bag presents a tactile, unstructured silhouette in soft calfskin leather or velvet, lined in suede, achieving a wonderful balance. The collection comprises two sizes: The Bloom mini, offered in cream and black calfskin leather and black velvet, and The Bloom medium, in khaki green and black calfskin leather with a detachable leather strap.
“I am thrilled to introduce our first leather bag collection with The Bloom bag,” Erdem says. “I began by contemplating the character, gestures, and poise of the many women and muses who have inspired the narratives of all my collections, alongside a lifelong fascination with the language of flowers.”
