Blending organic and electronic pop with powerful, lyrical melodies, Emmy Adelle is working to carve out a niche for herself in the music scene. Her debut single, Over, racked up over fifty thousand Spotify streams and garnered attention from many outlets, and now she is ready to introduce her self-produced single, You Make Me Feel Alive. With this new song, the half-Filipino artist and model from the Chicago suburbs, who is based in Miami, finally feels like her inner storytelling is fully reflected in both the production and vocal mixing.
“The production and vocal mixing fully reflect the story I want to tell, and it's exciting to see that vision come to life,” she says after acknowledging that for the longest time she felt like her music wasn't fully capturing the emotions she wanted to convey to listeners. “I'm sure a lot of people can relate to having a vision or feeling inside but not being able to fully express it. From the beginning of my music journey, I always had a clear vision of what I wanted my sound to be, but like many of us, I struggled with turning that vision into reality.”
Celebrating good vibes and how some people have this unique ability to make us feel alive, the singer explores different feelings in this new single, diving into the push and pull between reality and fantasy. “There is the repeated line, "Tell me, was it real?" that captures that emotional confusion, wondering if I was in love with the current person or just the idea of them. Sometimes, we glorify the best parts of someone, falling in love with their potential and the moments that make our hearts race. But it’s hard to know if that feeling is rooted in reality or just our own thoughts,” she adds.
