Phoenix-based brother-sister duo Dorsten return today with their new single, Husha song that leans into the darker edges of their storytelling. Known for their cinematic soundscapes and tight harmonies, Sophie and Alex Dorsten strip the arrangement back just enough to let the tension breathe. The result is a track that feels haunting yet restrained, guided by Sophie’s striking vocal and Alex’s understated production.
Hush is about the suffocating grip of a toxic relationship and how blind you can become when you think you’re in love,” Sophie says. “It’s both a warning and a confession — the push and pull between passion and pain.” The single follows a year of heavy touring, including performances at Summerfest and the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, as well as support slots for Mark Ambor in the U.S. and Europe, and a recent nine-city run in Canada.
The siblings first made their mark with the 2024 EP To The River, a self-produced and self-mastered record that highlighted their DIY approach, from writing and recording to designing the visuals. With Hush, they continue to refine their sound without losing that raw edge, shifting toward a moodier tone that still carries their hallmark melodic warmth.
Currently on a Pacific Northwest tour with stops in Eugene, Portland, Bend, Seattle and more, Dorsten will follow with shows in Michigan, Ontario, and a hometown date at ASU Kerr in Scottsdale, with UK and European appearances in the works.
