Wearing a print – from classic houndstooth to animal like leopard or snake – can be a risky choice for many. But it won’t be for men this upcoming Spring/Summer, as Kim Jones has reworked and revamped Dior’s iconic newspaper print first popularized by Galliano in the Spring/Summer 2000 haute couture show. The menswear creative director has worked hand-in-hand with American artist Daniel Arsham, who played an important role in the French maison’s S/S 2020 show by creating the set as well contributing to some design aspects, and now features a combination of press releases written by Dior himself as well as the inscription ‘Collection Été 3020’ (a nod to the artist’s temporal projections). Featured in garments and accessories like a nylon organza jacket, t-shirts, shoes, socks, or the masculine reinterpretation of the Saddle bag, get ready for the comeback of the Noughties print.
