Dior is heading to Dublin for its Fall 2027 show, set for Friday 4 December at Trinity College Dublin. The collection will be unveiled against the backdrop of the Old Library, making it the first time the Maison has staged a show in Ireland.
The setting comes with its own fashion history. Dublin was the birthplace of Carmel Snow, the American Harper’s Bazaar editor who coined the term ‘New Look’ after seeing Christian Dior’s debut collection in February 1947. Now, nearly eight decades later, the Maison returns to that legacy through an institution whose cultural weight needs no introduction.
Jonathan Anderson, an Irishman himself, has stated: “Showing at Trinity College Dublin is a dream come true. I began my career in fashion in Dublin, so returning here feels deeply personal. To present this collection in such an extraordinary setting – at an institution with such an important cultural history – is a real honour.”
For Anderson, the show reads less like a simple change of scenery than a return with real emotional charge. Expect Dublin’s long memory to be part of the picture.
