Dior pays homage to one of its key Spring/Summer looks from 1948 by celebrating their Cruise 2028 show in the very place that inspired its name almost eighty years ago: Shanghai. Under Jonathan Anderson’s creative direction, the collection will be presented on Friday, 14 May, 2027.
Bridging two eras, Dior creates a dialogue between past and present through the garments, drawing on Eastern-inspired references to shape a new chapter in the Maison’s visual language. Shanghai’s white magnolia offers a first clue to the setting of the show, its presence echoing the city’s identity while providing a delicate thread through which Dior’s couture can be presented with both respect and a knowing nod to the silhouettes and visual language of the place.
Anderson’s affinity with the past (and, inevitably, with Monsieur Dior himself) is palpable throughout his creations, expressed through a deep appreciation for the Maison’s rich history and an attentive approach to its codes. The choice of location is far from incidental: it embraces the restless atmosphere of Shanghai while creating a space to recall, honour and commemorate the elements that have shaped Dior’s enduring legacy.
