Sometimes, it’s good to be disillusioned; to scream, endure pain and sadness, and allow yourself to feel anger. To accept discomfort, but also to confront it, in order to find something that feels more real. There are things that are wrong –or not as right as they should be– in the world we live in, and being optimistic while doing our best doesn’t mean accepting them. Not everything is clean, sophisticated, simple, or a constantly romanticised vacation. What we've been sold isn’t always truthful.
In their latest Spring/Summer 2026 collection, titled Locust, Det Blev Sent explores this visceral, honest state of being that defines an emotionally erased generation; one raised in a distorted reality, yet determined to rebuild it. Overstimulated and often hopeless, but still finding strength in the clash: that’s the generation Det Blev Sent designs for. A wardrobe not made to soothe, but to confront.
Rooted in the harsh sonic world of Nine Inch Nails, the collection draws visual and emotional parallels to the poetic, almost romanticised violence of the American industrial rock band. Raw mesh, worn leather, coated fabrics, uneven cuts, and inside-out seams shape the visual language. The palette stays within oxidised blacks, ash greys, and bruised tones — a muted echo of emotion and memory in decay.
This collection evokes that familiar fusion of avant-garde grunge and post-apocalyptic minimalism we often see in high fashion, tinged with a sense of alienation. But Locust isn’t about dressing sad, nostalgic kids. It’s a uniform for those who’ve stopped pretending to be fine –but still want to look cool, if we can put it that way– and who are searching for others who feel the same.
