Having fun can sometimes feel strangely underrated in music, but Ciao Lucifer have built their entire world around it. Since first getting together as friends in Amsterdam, the duo have spent years turning anxiety, emotional burnout, and everyday frustrations into bright indie-pop. Their songs move fast, their live shows even faster. That energy runs directly through Do Do Do, out today alongside the announcement of their upcoming album, Sunset Riders.
The track wastes no time. Guitars rush forward, the chorus lands almost instantly, and suddenly everything feels lighter than it did three minutes earlier. It sounds carefree on the surface but underneath sits something more reflective. The song circles around empathy and the exhausting tendency to absorb other people’s problems until they begin feeling like your own. “Sometimes, all you need to do for a loved one is to give them the faith that they can handle their issues on their own,” the duo explain.
What makes Do Do Do work so well is the way it never gets trapped inside those heavier emotions. The song keeps moving, built around momentum and the kind of loose chemistry that only really comes from years spent playing together. That same instinct shaped Sunset Riders, the duo’s upcoming album arriving later this year. This time, the band deliberately stepped away from overthinking, recording the project in only three days alongside producer Simon Akkermans, capturing most of it in single takes.
You can already hear that immediacy inside Do Do Do. Nothing feels overworked. The edges remain slightly rough, the energy completely intact. It feels closer to the atmosphere of a live show than a carefully polished studio recording, which makes sense for a band that has spent years refining songs directly in front of crowds.
