Does size matter? The Maison’s Creation Studio says yes, and that bigger the better! Once again, the Chanel team has taken the lead in unveiling the Fall/Winter 2025 season collection. Giant pearls, oversized bows, and the Maison’s signature codes return with fresh, unexpected twists, marking the beginning of a new era for Chanel under the anticipated creative direction of Matthieu Blazy.
Under the shimmering glass roof of the Grand Palais, the Creation Studio orchestrated a visually captivating experience, with Willo Perron’s striking installation (a monumental black ribbon) setting the stage for a collection that reimagined Chanel’s heritage through a lens of exaggerated proportions and optical illusions. The front row reflected this spirit of grandeur, bringing together fashion icons and cultural powerhouses. Naomi Campbell, Riley Keough, and Charlotte Casiraghi led the way, joined by actresses Dakota Fanning and Simone Ashley, as well as music sensations Raye, Tyla, and Peggy Gou. Their presence set the tone for a show that blended tradition with bold, modern reinvention.
Playing with scale and perspective, the collection featured trompe l’oeil effects that reshaped silhouettes in unexpected ways. Mini jackets were paired with dramatically elongated trousers, oversized poplin shirts draped down to the ankles, and layered ensembles redefined traditional tailoring. Three-piece tweed sets and tunics worn over trousers introduced depth and dimension, while sheer tulle capes and blouses floated over suits, creating a interplay of transparency and structure.
