I guess you’re familiar with the twisted mind of Darren Aronofsky. The filmmaker behind brilliant films like Requiem for a Dream (2000), Black Swan (2010), Mother! (2017) and The Whale (2022) is now ready to take over the big screen once again. This time, it’s an action movie based in New York City not suitable for the faint of heart. It’s titled Caught Stealing and stars high-profile names like Austin Butler, Zoë Kravitz, Matt Smith, Bad Bunny, and Regina King. If you aren’t convinced yet, watch the official trailer.
We all have that friend who loves to live on the edge and is a bit of a bad influence, the type of person your parents warned you about. If you don’t know anybody like that… well, it means that the bad influence is you, probably. Austin Butler’s character has a punk, rebel friend who, very casually, asks him to take care of his cat for a few days. What he doesn’t know is that this innocent favour will be the start of a relentless adventure across the underworld of NYC. Chased by the Puerto Ricans, the Russians, and the Orthodox Jews, Butler will battle criminals while juggling romance and friendship. With an official theatrical release in the US on August 29, Aronofsky’s new film looks dangerously fun!
