This is one of the latest visuals of the Demna era, so enjoy it while it lasts! Balenciaga’s Summer 2025 campaign, lensed by the incredible Nadia Lee Cohen, is inspired by Old Hollywood screen tests and highlights the importance that styling, dress, and also attrezzo play in building characters — in the real world, the personas we present in public when we set foot outside of our homes.
Using a glamorous yet minimalistic curtained backdrop for the shoot, the LA-based photographer is inspired by the so-called Golden Years of cinema, where elegance prevailed and starlets started to become celebrities. But bring it to 2025, and modern-day Hollywood actors take the reins: Kyle MacLachlan, Linda Honeyman, Sunnyi Melles, Mark Eydelshteyn, Rachel Sennott, Zhou You, and Georgia Ford pose for the House’s campaign while sporting chic, oversized, or shrunken looks — from floor-length coats to dresses with power shoulders, to denim sets, bombers, polo shirts, and trompe l’oeil lingerie.
Joining the cast, we find artist Coumba Samba and models Sun, Raiki, Queen and Leona. Under Nadia Lee Cohen’s gaze, they personify characters as varied as The Artist, The Girl Next Door, The Socialite, the Prodigy, The Main Character, The Villain, The Reporter, or The Boy Next Door — proving that Balenciaga allows you to express yourself and become whoever it is that you want to be.
