When it comes to Balenciaga, we know that more is more. And no, we aren’t talking about a baroque, overstimulating aesthetic. On the contrary, the French House is known for its more stripped-back style. But if we focus on the silhouettes and the volumes… Well that’s another story. From oversized coats and blazers to gravity-defying platforms, we know Demna Gvasalia loves an exaggerated volume. And that’s precisely what he’s done with the new 3XL sneakers, recently presented in a campaign lensed by Chris Lensz.
Bridging luxury and utilitarian fashion, Balenciaga has become synonym of high-end tracksuits and athletic-inspired ready-to-wear and accessories. One of its latest releases is the 3XL sneaker, which exaggerates elements of a high-performance running shoe wit ha super-wide silhouette. It’s almost as if you were looking at it through a magnifying tool because some of its details, like the varying scales of mesh and thick laces, seem almost illusory. Sported by models Daniel and Lise, the new campaign is another testament to Gvasalia’s enduring and successful vision for Balenciaga.
