Far from taking a break, Alexander Vincent has been working non-stop for the past 2 years on his next project. The artist, who has worked as a producer for notable artists such as Sabrina Claudio, Audrey Nuna and Son Lux, is back in full force this 2023 announcing the release of a new full-length album. Putting all his energy into it and confirming that he will be releasing a song every month, he now presents its first sneak peek. His first release off the album is entitled The Joke (Is Going Over My Head), and this is the first song of eleven total.
“Sometimes I just don't understand why we were put here on Earth to suffer the brutal non-understanding of existence,” answers Vincent, who collaborated with Finnish-born singer Dwara on the single Serpent, when asked about the meaning behind this new release. The versatile creator refers to a sentiment shared by many people, a question for which it is difficult to find convincing answers. Addressing a theme of a markedly philosophical nature, the artist flees from trends and temporary musical booms to address not only the foundation on which sound is built but life. A vision that he now shares with his audience and with which he opens a new chapter in his professional career, after gaining much respect as a writer/producer globally and in his home country, Canada.
“I can't help but think it must have been a cruel joke. I didn't know what to do with this burning feeling so I tried to turn it into a song and this is what came out,” he adds about the message behind his new song, The Joke (Is Going Over My Head), in which he has leaned deeper into his artistic taste, leaning heavily on string arrangement, live instruments and cutting, cynical lyrics. While working on many musical projects with different artists ranging from pop to avant-garde, it is in his most personal musical project that he asks the world the deepest questions by sharing his reflections and uncertainty.
