Question: what do you get when you combine the two biggest rappers of 2020 with the hottest music video director in the rap game? The answer is Coco. After setting the world ablaze with his debut EP Dropped Outta College and his first ever double platinum single Mood, 24KGoldn is back with a brand new follow-up track. This time around his collaboration features a guest appearance from a 2021 Grammy-nominated rapper from North Carolina known as the DaBaby.
Coco is a hip-hop track where the raspy vocals of 24KGoldn collide with the charismatic rap verses of DaBaby. The music resonates like a pop song with a trap undertone. It's a romantic tale about being young, successful, rich, and all of the wonderful ways that material things can make you an eligible bachelor with adoring suitors who will chase you to the ends of the Earth – just for a small taste of that Coco Chanel. Director Cole Bennett depicts that notion quite well with his trademark flare for the dramatics and his elite level of production quality. For this music video, the Lyrical Lemonade visionary created a production inspired by Christmas. This music video is highlighted by 24kGoldn dancing in what appears to be a winter wonderland and DaBaby crash landing into a snow cabin while dressed up as Santa Claus.
All in all, Coco, is a great way for 24kGoldn to end the year 2020. It's also an exciting prelude to his upcoming debut album, El Dorado, which is set to be released in 2021.
