If you are willing to let yourself get carried away by sound, immersing in a sensorial journey full of nuances in which emotions run high and sound waves guide you, leaving aside worries and concerns, Zabala's new album No Club is for you. The composer and producer hailing from Bilbao in the Bay of Biscay, Northern Spain, has just presented his new project via the Basque label Forbidden Colours, and it melds tactile and organic sounds with sprawling soundscapes and potent electronic sensibilities. This is a demonstration of the power of sound and all the possibilities it offers when talent comes along with sensibility.
Exploring new dimensions and breaking all barriers, Jon Aguirrezabalaga, aka Zabala, now releases his new album, No Club, weaving his auditory tapestries and opening portals to otherworldly realms of consciousness. Addressing and reflecting on such complex issues affecting today's society as the lack of intimacy and our overexposure to external stimuli, the artist offers us a moment of disconnection from the real world in which there is no room for external noise, letting us feel free and fully.
The journey begins with Nire Azala featuring Verde Prato, the first track of the album, which is accompanied by a music video directed by Rafa Zubiria, and continues with Crystal, Tantak, Calavera, Molokai, Amira, Urtu, Mr.Vertigo, Y Nada, My Mexican Bretzel, and Patrik, which puts the finishing touch to this mesmerising project. In addition to the aforementioned Verde Prato, the album includes synergies with a celebrated cast of Spanish collaborators, including Rrucculla and Sara Zazoya. Through hypnotic rhythms and ethereal textures, Zabala speaks to us about the present moment while consolidating his identity in the music scene through a very personal sound.
