Do you remember the unmatched aura of Olympic medalist pistol shooter Kim Ye-Ji? Or the coolness that Romeo Beckham exudes? Or, of course, our METAL 51 cover star Kim Petra’s sex-fuelled music? Well, they’re all now the faces of the This is a Balenciaga Campaign, shot in the streets of Paris by the one and only Juergen Teller.
Joining these stars, we also find models Sua Lee, Khadim Sock, and Akolde Mee. This talented bunch is portrayed sitting or reclining on select pieces from Demna’s personal collection of vintage furniture — from L-shaped shiny sofas to red velvet chairs.
The images feature Olympic medalist pistol shooter Kim Ye-Ji alongside athlete and model Romeo Beckham, singer Kim Petras, and models Sua Lee, Khadim Sock, and Akolde Meen—sitting or reclining on select pieces from Demna’s personal collection of vintage furniture in front of landmarks and in the city’s various neighbourhoods, as a tribute to Paris. On the streets of neighbourhoods like Le Marais or casually chilling on front of the Eiffel Tower, This is a Balenciaga Campaign by Juergen Teller shows a new side to the city, one that is more raw and casual yet still cool and elegant.
True to Balenciaga’s DNA, we see the cast wearing some of the House staples, including the Le City or Bel Air bags, as well as new additions like the Hampton Carry All, the Rodeo Tote, the Hourglass Pochette, and the Rodeo Top Handle Bag, a new version of the rodeo with versatile closures for multiple styling options. There’s also a focus on pieces in the still life pictures, including eyewear, footwear, and jewellery — from the new Monday Sneaker and Bel Air Sandal to the Nano Choker or the Nano Sunglasses.
