As the year comes to a close and everyone obsesses over the past twelve months, we also find it important to set our gaze into the future. 2025 marks the first quarter of the 21st century, and it’ll sure bring big surprises. Music-wise, we already know a few albums that are coming out — and we couldn’t be more excited! So to get yourself ready, here’s what you need to know about confirmed upcoming releases from some brilliant artists.
Bad Bunny
In Latin countries, the 6th of January is one of the most important Holidays as the Three Wise Men come to give their presents — they were the original Santa Claus before Anglo-Saxon culture took over. This year, we can add a fourth wise man: Benito Martínez Ocasio aka Bad Bunny. The Puerto Rican singer will put ‘sazón’ to 2025 with DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, a new album comprising seventeen songs — so far, he’s released a couple of singles, EL CLúB and PIToRRO DE COCO, and they sound incredibly fresh.
Ethel Cain
After the successful debut of Preacher’s Daughter back in 2022, Ethel Cain is back next year with her sophomore album, titled Perverts. Released on January 8, it’ll be one of the first records to see the light (or darkness) next year. So far, she’s only released a single, Punish, which cements Cain’s depressive approach and hypnotising sound.
FKA Twigs
The Capricorn queen loves to release albums in January, her birth month. She already did that with Caprisongs (2022), and she’ll be doing the same with Eusexua, her highly anticipated new album. Out on January 24 (officially in Aquarius season, but we’ll let that slide), FKA Twigs’ new record will consist of eleven songs — of which she’s already revealed three: Eusexua, Perfect Stranger, and Drums of Death. As usual, her haunting voice, captivating aura, and experimental sound will result in one of the most-talked albums of the year.
Central Cee
The British rapper became a global sensation with the bar “how can I be homophobic? My bitch is gay,” and he’s stayed atop since. But in this overcrowded industry, artists know they need to feed their fans with new music. So on January 24, he’ll be releasing Can’t Rush Greatness, his third studio album. With seventeen songs, we expect Central Cee to deliver new memorable lyrics, infectious rhythms, and natural charisma. As we wait for the full launch, you can listen to the two singles so far — gen z luv and Band4Band (feat. Lil Baby).
Lady Gaga
Yes, Mother Monster is back! Her highly anticipated new album, which fans have titled LG7, is set to release in February — we can’t wait! Before that, Lady Gaga surprised the world with Harlequin, a jazz-inspired record she made as she embodied the character in Joker: Folie à Deux. But it’s the new album where she’ll be expanding more her unique universe. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, she says of it: “When you press play, after the first few songs you think you know what you’re getting into, and then you don’t.” A few weeks ago, she released Disease as the first single, and it’s been playing non-stop everywhere.
Lisa
Another member of Blackpink goes solo. After Rosé, who released her debut solo album earlier in December, it’s Lisa’s time to shine. Her LP, titled Alter Ego, is set to release on February 28, and we’ve already heard three of its songs — Rockstar, Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me), and New Woman (feat. Rosalía). Blending different genres, the superstar’s new record will consist of twelve songs, which will be the pillar of her new sound. If you’re eager to see her, she’s already been confirmed for next year’s Coachella.
Lana del Rey
Our velvety voice queen was supposed to release a country album in 2024, but it never happened. She’s still toured the world and fans have had the opportunity to see her glow on stage, but no new music — well, yes, the single Tough with Quavo, but that didn’t quench our thirst. However, Lana del Rey took to Instagram last month to confirm that, on May 21, she’ll be releasing her tenth studio album, titled The Right Person Will Stay. “So grateful that my thirteen tracks came together with my beautiful work between Luke, Jack, Zach and Drew Erickson amongst others. Happy for you to hear a few songs coming up before Stagecoach,” she wrote. Stay tuned!
