Music is not the only element we find in Mode Collapse’s creative universe, though it stands out as his favourite medium when it comes to communicating his artistic cosmos with his audience. Inspired by anime, internet culture, present-day identity crisis, generational problems, and memes, the Georgia-based artist Uasmi Nasser, who leads his side-project Mode Collapse, now presents Alternative Dreaming Techniques, which is the first track from his upcoming EP of the same name. The release is a closer approach to the reflections, thoughts, and concerns of this multidisciplinary creative who understands art in a very broad sense and is committed to experimentation.
Music, manga, TikToks, and videos coexist in the project created by the accomplished electronic music and visual artist Uasmi Nasser, Mode Collapse, achieving a distinctive sound and visual identity in a music scene in which many people are greatly influenced by current trends and continually modify their sound, trying to find the master formula to connect with a very demanding public who receives millions of stimuli every day. The alternative hip-hop act continues to share their stories through music while getting ready for the release of their EP.
Their just-released track, Alternative Dreaming Techniques, is our first contact with this upcoming project that will be unveiled very soon. It is about recurring entities we all face in our sleep. “Could it be crooked stairs you try to jump over and over again or trying to catch something you desire but just running in place?” says the artist, who has collaborated with artist Sveta Kononova, with drawings showing the imagery we have in our minds projected into our dreams.
