Last week, amid the whirlwind of presentations and events resulting from Milan Fashion Week, we travelled to North Italy to visit the new edition of Milano Fashion&Jewels. Being a meeting point for all the professionals in the sector that we told you about last year in this article, when we headed to Fiera Milano (Rho) to discover all its new developments and where we were impressed by its enormous size, the fair has welcomed more than six hundred brands from thirty-seven countries this year.
The event dedicated to the world of jewellery and fashion accessories is a must-see on the international scene for all players in this industry where, besides learning about the latest trends in this sector that champions quality, sustainability, and exclusivity, they all have the opportunity to share opinions and generate synergies in an exciting sum of forces that leads to formulas never seen before. Milano Fashion&Jewels has been proving for years to be up to date by implementing all the latest developments in the field and paying special attention to everything that is to come, with particular emphasis on the needs of consumers and the adaptation of brands to a very changing context.
Being a real journey through different cultures and traditions, this event presents itself as a privileged container of creations and ideas based on research work deployed in exclusive products that are high-quality and original for their content of innovation and craftsmanship. Given its huge size and trying to make the experience as complete and easy as possible for all visitors, the fair is structured in three sections: Fashion Accessories & Apparel, jewellery, and F&J Delivery, and hosts the Exploring Sustainable Fashion space, curated by Guya Manzoni and Marina Savarese, founders of Sfashion-net, a network dedicated to slow, critical, and independent fashion brands.
Putting the spotlight on the new generations of talents and sharing their way of seeing the future of this industry, Milano Fashion&Jewels has collaborated with Poli.Design, inspiring two areas that offer a view of the future created by the minds of young creatives, Visionaires and Design Direction. They have also teamed up with the prestigious IED Milano in an important project that sees thirteen students of its Master’s in Fashion Design engaged in the creation of collections centred on creative upcycling.
Regarding the jewellery trends for the next season, maximalism is expected to be back, and pieces will increase in size. The versatility of accessories continues to gain ground with elements in which design and functionality meet, not forgetting the growth of a colour palette dominated by gold and silver but also by sunny yellow, especially in the shade of ochre, followed by red, many shades of green, and royal blue. These and many other topics were discussed at length in the conferences and talks that Milano Fashion&Jewels led with the help of various experts in its latest edition held from 15th to 17th of September.
The fair was held on the same dates as other important events for the industry, turning Milan into a meeting point for professionals from all over the world who not only travel to the city for Fashion Week. MICAM Milano, MIPEL, and The One Milan, global business trendsetters that also took place in the city last week, have confirmed their status as international platforms, recording a total of over forty thousand trade visitors, with almost half of them hailing from one hundred forty foreign countries, together with Milano Fashion&Jewels. The growth of this event is evident, and we will continue to inform you of its next steps.
