They say there’s no place like home, and Gucci has taken those words to the heart. The Italian House has just announced that the next Cruise show will be taking place in Florece, their hometown, the next 15th of May. To make it even more special, they’ll host the event at the Palazzo Settimanni, which currently works as the archive building for Gucci.
We live in uncertain times. Change is constant and unstoppable, and sometimes that can make us dizzy. For the team at Gucci, the departure of Sabato de Sarno and the recent announcement that Demna will be taking over the reins can feel like a lot to process. So in the midst of that turmoil, the House has made the wise decision to find some ground under its feet and host the upcoming Cruise show in their own home — smart!
“Returning to Florence, and specifically to Palazzo Settimanni, is both a tribute and a statement of intent,” says Stefano Cantino, CEO of Gucci. “The Archive is not just a repository of our past; it is a living space where Gucci's codes of identity are preserved and reinvented. Gucci’s identity codes are preserved and reinterpreted through constant dialogue. Presenting the Cruise 2026 collection here reaffirms our link to the cultural and artisanal heritage that defines us, projecting it into the future with coherence and ambition.”
