A boot within a shoe. A lace-up within a loafer. A shoe within a shoe. Sounds weird, doesn’t it? Well, the new collab between Dr. Martens and MM6 Maison Margiela is exactly that — an oddity. For the first time, the two brands pair up for an exclusive drop that includes three different models: the 1460/1461 Boot, the 1490/1461 Boot, and the 1461/Penton Shoe. Take a look!
The first hint of this first collaboration between the two powerhouses was during the last Milan Fashion Week. The models walking down the runway of the MM6 Maison Margiela show did so rocking these new hybrid shoes, which quickly caught the eye of buyers, editors, and fashion lovers in general. Now, we’re finally able to get a closer look at what’s coming to stores next November 19.
True to Maison Margiela’s experimental approach to design and Dr. Martens rebellious spirit, this collaboration is giving us the unexpected — and the bizarre too. They’ve crafted three different models that are hybrid, so in general, you can actually recognise five different iconic silhouettes from the British brand. It’s just that, à la doctor Frankenstein, they’ve blended them together. Available in contrasting black and cherry, their most demanded and recognisable colours, the three shoes show how can classical things can be twisted and re-thought.
