Last year’s Dior Men x Parley for the Oceans beachwear collaboration featured iridescent wetsuits and geometrical water shoes, illuminating the extraterrestrial nature of life under sea. In their new 2024 partnership, Dior has pivoted appearances with textured, collared shirts, striped-knitted ponchos and windowpane patterned culottes. The garments are featured in coastal colors like turquoise, beige, navy, sky blue and coral.
The beachwear capsule created by the established French Maison and environmental organization is three years in the making. Their collective mission is to fight against ocean pollution while highlighting Dior’s commitment to sustainable fashion. The pair began a research project in 2019 to create eco-friendly yarns and fabrics. In the fall 2024 men’s collection, 30% of the textiles are made with Parley Ocean Plastic, the organization’s high-quality material from upcycled marine plastic debris and fishing gear collected from ocean coastlines. Dior has tastefully incorporated recycled ocean material into elegant and functional classic, beachwear pieces. Artistic director Kim Jones upholds the Maison’s iconic designs within the industry.
Aside from shorts, bags and vests, the collection also offers Dior emblemmed hammocks, paddle boards and H-Town sandals. With each innovative design, Dior emphasizes its dedication to a sustainable and eco-innovative fashion future while upholding designer integrity.
