Memories, obsession or falling in love inspire the new work of the German four-piece Rikas, for whom the pandemic has been a turning point in their lives and their career. And it is that since they released their debut album Showtime in 2019, which has gathered close to a million streams, life has changed a lot and we have become used to a new normal that a few months ago no one thought would be true. A year in which they have proven to be extremely resilient by releasing Overthinking and being lauded by critics thanks to a style that seemed to be necessary for today's scene.
They replaced tours and live concerts, inevitably cancelled, with collaborations with friends and creators. Their new video is a good example of this. “We have many special guest appearances in the video. From magicians to comedians to jugglers and one of our favourite bands, Blond,” Ferdinand, Sam, Chris and Sascha explain when asked about the extraordinary audiovisual piece, which shows the importance they attach to aesthetics in their joint project. Written with producer Dennis Neuer in a small Berlin studio, Superstitious is a demonstration that together we are stronger.
