Since he released his debut album Always Loved in 2017 receiving international acclaim, enigmatic synth wave producer Das Mörtal hasn't stopped shaping his personal sound project. The world-renowned artist, who was inspired by artists like Depeche Mode and Aphex Twin and mixes influences from German techno to horror and science fiction film soundtracks, now presents the first single taken from his forthcoming album. Today we’re premiering WASTED, his new release with which he gives us clues about everything that is to come in 2023.


Boasting over 20 million streams on Spotify alone, this new cinematic single its out now via Lisbon Lux Records. The creative replies when we ask him about his next album in which we’ll find this new track that it will be more personal thematically unlike the two previously released ones. “This track came about when I was trying to produce more music during the pandemic but, mentally being unable to sit in front of my workstation, thus feeling remorse for wasting valuable time.”

The three-minute track immerses us in surround sounds creating a quite tense atmosphere that demonstrates the career path and talent of Das Mörtal. Having performed over 50 shows in the USA since 2019, this new single exists somewhere along the cutting edge of the synth-wave genre. The energy runs through our body while we listen to WASTED, with a quite addictive sound topped with haunting vocals, driving towards a high-beam neon sunset.
