Acne Studios has revealed its Spring/Summer 2023 campaign featuring the iconic model and actress Devon Aoki as the face of the collection. The campaign, shot in Los Angeles by Dutch visual artist and photographer Carlijn Jacobs, showcases Aoki as a mysterious muse, dressed in stunning hero looks from the collection. The Swedish fashion house is known for its minimalist and avant-garde designs and emphasis on quality craftsmanship, their unique silhouettes have earned a cult following among fashion-forward individuals.
The campaign follows the Acne Studios' Spring/Summer 2023 show, which celebrated the brand's 10-year anniversary with a new take on the traditional notion of love. The collection features Aoki in a range of striking looks, showcasing Acne’s unique approach to classic occasion wear. A transparent tulle gown with a giant deconstructed bow in light blue takes centre stage, while organza ribbons wrap around Aoki's body, representing a symbol of union. Oversized seashell earrings and layers of red and white gingham clash against shiny patent leather and metallic spike studs. A matching flower corsage bra and metallic purple eye shadow complete the look.

Aoki shared her enthusiasm for the collection, stating that the Acne Studios pieces are “beautifully made, very flattering on, but feel sui generis like sculpted pieces of art floating down the runway.” She added that her favourite look was a see-through column dress with colourful flower petals sewn into it, paired against a pink leather coat with pearlescent silk lining and spiked bow shoes. “Delicate but with an element of danger.” The campaign's soft pink silk sheets, reminiscent of the Spring/Summer 2023 show set, provide a perfect backdrop for Aoki's striking looks in a collection that disrupts the essence of classic occasion wear and provides a fresh take on traditional archetypes of romance, making it an exciting addition to our wardrobe.
