Converse and J.W.Anderson are working together again after their first collaboration in Pitti Uomo 2017. Now, they’re about to launch another iconic collection, Simply_Complex, which will be available worldwide on March 2. The designer reinterprets once again the classic models Thunderbolt and Chuck Taylor 70, focusing on the shoes’ textures and materials. The campaign, directed by Larry Clark, was filmed in Marseille (France) and represents the ever blurring line that separates high-end luxury and street style.
The classical Chuck 70 appears here inspired by the traditional brown menswear shoes and is given a more formal look by the sophisticated use of suede. “By applying this detail to an icon, we create an iconic version of it”, says Jonathan. On the other hand, the Thunderbolt model, that caught the designer’s attention from the beginning of this collaboration, comes in two asymmetrical versions: a tonal brown/beige one and a denim one.
The new models of shoes by JW Anderson for Converse will be available worldwide from March 2 both online and in JW Anderson stores.
