Having completed his studies in Fine Art by 2015, Florian Joahn
initially ventured into the fashion industry with the guidance of director, creative director, photographer, and stylist, JeanPaul Paula. By 2020, Florian had already began making his mark within the medium with powerful projects like Freedom of the body, São Paulo
and Pt. 2
, where he delved into the essence of the residents of São Paulo, Brazil, with the help of immersive portrait photography. The hybridity of Florian’s creative work is evident, as he proves proficient in both immersing himself in what seem like ethnographic photographic and directorial studies – like his work on Sao Paulo and his revolutionary directing in the fashion film IARA
and utilising his creative perception in more commercial projects for high end fashion brands like Mugler, for which he directed the epoch-defining film for their SS21 campaign alongside creative director Casey Cadwallader.
