Gosha Rubchinskiy is part of this generation of fashion designers who dissects, or rather portrays what it means to be young in Russia today – like a sociologist-designer. For his F/W 2017 collection, he sounded out Russian youth in all of its original form. Shot by Maxim Tomash, Apart uncovers the stories behind three fresh faces who answered to Gosha's open casting call: Andrey, Ivan and Kirill.
But Apart is a documentary, and, as such, it draws a picture of this ambitious yet lost adolescence from Kaliningrad. In 2009, before having the support from Comme des Garçons, this is actually where Gosha Rubchinskiy showed his first own collection. A homecoming of sorts, Rubchinskiy and InRussia here tell a bit of the story of a neglected youth, thanks to fashion and its universal language.
