Long time before Photoshop existed, photographers had to find alternative ways to let their imagination shine in a perfect composition, so they learnt some magic tricks. In 1967, Richard Avedon photographed Audrey Hepburn for the first issue of Famous Photographers magazine. To produce this fanciful photo, Avedon first photographed his muse in the studio, and then he made a collage of several images printed to scale. The outcome? A fashionable black and white Audrey Hepburn with several heads and expressions, immortalizing the actress’ versatility.
