Yesterday, Dior Homme’s creative director Kris Van Assche showcased a world-first presentation of his Fall 2017 collection to celebrate the inauguration of a new boutique in Ginza Six, Tokyo. After having hosted A$AP Rocky, the designer showed “A form of creative liberation” inspired by Japan’s fashionable society, by unveiling its Fall 2017 collection during a huge after-party show.
Through a mysterious set comprised of teenage bedrooms lined up side by side, new graphic details embrace themselves within this classic Dior Homme collection, which draws an opulent and rebellious aesthetic when meeting Monsieur Dior’s 1947 famous scream red and blue lights. Then, add white polka dots, technical squiggled thread embroidered textiles, and the ‘SCREAM’ and ‘NEWAVE’ decorative patterns layered on the traditional Christian Dior logo, which were plastered over these fine tailoring and sportwear garments.

From long parkas to baggy trousers, including suits, jackets, sweaters, backpacks, caps and sneakers, Kris Van Assche spotlights his captivating desire to express this romantic side of the New Wave through a monochrome palette. Today, a world-first exclusive retail moment invites customers to explore and shop the collection at the new Ginza store before its official launch worldwide in mid-May.
